The Congregation of the Ursuline sisters of Tildonk came to India in 1903 on 13th of January. The first Ursuline sisters were landed in Ranchi. Their main work was among the different tribals of Chottanagpur. Slowly their work expanded to the different parts of India and abroad. At present we are working in the States of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Nicobar Andamans, Kerala, Assam and NorthAmeria Guyana.
In 1997 a big turn took place due to the vast distance from one house to another. The existing Ranchi Province was divided into three Provinces and one District. Thus Ambikapur became a Province and this is in the State of Chhattisgarh. The Provincialate of the Ambikapur Province is situated in Ambikapur. Madhya Pradesh Ursuline Charitable Society comes under this Province. At present we are working in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and North America Guyana.
